Get ready for rapid-fire repartee with Jim Braude, emcee, Discovering Justice 2016 Annual Benefit, coming up April 13 at the Moakley U.S. Courthouse, Boston.
The lawyer-turned-broadcaster will do the honors in honoring attorneys Mary Bonauto of GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders and Douglas Hallward-Driemeier of Ropes & Gray as 2016 Champions of Justice. They are being recognized for their arguments in Obergefell v. Hodges before the U.S. Supreme Court—the landmark marriage equality case decided in June 2015.
O’Brien & Levine looks forward to the special evening as a long-time sponsor, in keeping with our tradition of giving back in support of young people.
The theme is “A Celebration of Civic Education.” Discovering Justice connects classrooms and courtrooms through a series of programs engaging kindergarteners through eighth-graders.
Annual Benefit honorary chairs are:
Two former Governors: Deval Patrick and William Weld
One former Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice: Margaret Marshall
One former First Lady: Diane Patrick
And Eastern Bank President & COO Robert Rivers
